Lenna Jawdat is a DC-based Arab American writer and psychotherapist of Palestinian and Iraqi descent. Her work, on all fronts, tends to explore trauma, identity and resilience. Her poetry and flash nonfiction have appeared in Poet Lore, Passenger’s Journal, Rogue Agent, Stone of Madness, FreezeRay Poetry, and deathcap. Lenna was a 2023 Sundress Academy for the Arts summer resident and was nominated for Best of the Net in 2021 for her poem Ode to the Psoas. She is pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing at the Institute of American Indian Arts where she is poetry co-editor for Chapter House journal. In addition to a memoir in progress, Lenna is currently working on a book-length visual documentary poem.
